Big Dog Deli
Canine-themed Big Dog Deli LLC opened June 6, said Mark Burgess, who owns the 1,250-square-foot restaurant at 3459 W. Kearney St., Ste. 100, near the intersection with West Bypass. Burgess is partnering on the deli with John Allen, having previously worked with him in the Aviary Cafe and Creperie LLC business founded by Mark and Debbie Burgess. Mark Burgess said the plan is for Allen to soon take on an ownership stake in the deli. Burgess said startup costs for infill, signage and equipment were roughly $250,000. He said Big Dog Deli pays a lease rate of roughly $1,650 per month that includes an adjacent small office space in the retail center that he owns via Big Dog Airport Plaza LLC. The eatery’s New York-style deli menu lists build-your-own-sandwich options called Mutts and several dog-named Best in Show sandwiches such as the Yorkie with chicken salad. Breakfast is also served. Prices range $3-$16. Among Burgess’ other business ventures is the Ozarks Lunkers football team and Burgess Aircraft Management LLC, dba OzAir Charter Service.

Burrell Behavioral Health
June 16 was the first day for patients in Marshfield at a new $2 million Burrell Behavioral Health clinic. The 5,210-square-foot behavioral health clinic at 1069 Banning St. replaces another facility at 1350 Spur Dr., Ste. 230, where Burrell had operated in roughly 1,500 square feet for more than a decade. Storee Construction Co. served as general contractor for the project designed by architecture firm Hood-Rich Inc. Burrell broke ground on the clinic in October 2023. The new location, located near Interstate 44, offers a range of services that include addiction recovery, outpatient care and psychiatry. Rance Burger, director of media and public relations for Burrell, said the clinic employs a staff of 11. Additionally, the new facility offers group therapy, which officials said was an unavailable service at the prior clinic due to space constraints.
