After years of stockpiling antiques, Julie Bolls on March 21 opened her own retail shop at 601 S. Pickwick Ave. in the Rountree neighborhood. Bellina’s Bungalow offers about 500 vintage collectible and décor items, ranging in price from $5 to $600, said Bolls, who leases the space from Owen Holdings LLC for an undisclosed amount. Bolls, who with her husband, Ken, co-owns property damage contractor Compass Restoration LLC, is the store’s sole employee. Bellina’s Bungalow operates in space previously occupied by Homegrown Foods, which moved next door in January. Hours: 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Phone: (417) 522-9442.

Casablanca Bistro LLC
Missouri State University professor Richard Johnson on Feb. 27 opened Casablanca Bistro LLC at 431 S. Jefferson Ave., Ste. 100, in Wilhoit Plaza. Johnson, who teaches computer information systems, leases the former Quizno’s space from the Matt Miller Co. for an undisclosed amount. Johnson described the restaurant’s menu as “Mex-Amer-Italian,” featuring a hodgepodge of burritos, fajitas, nachos, burgers, hot dogs, wings, subs, pizza, pasta and salad. Johnson employs nine, and he said the restaurant incorporates a movie/pop culture theme, with music and movie posters on display. Hours: 11 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Continental Title Co.
Continental Title Co. relocated March 1 to a 5,300-square-foot space across the street from its Bradford Place office, where the firm leased two suites the last five years. Missy Melvin, a Continental Title escrow manager, said the company spent $70,000 renovating the 1546 E. Bradford Parkway building, which was previously vacant. She said Springfield general contractor Timberworks Building and Design LLC completed the remodel in late February, and Continental Title leases the space from JAM Enterprises Investments LLC. The move combines the escrow and title production departments and gives the office’s 10 employees room for growth, Melvin said. The Overland Park, Kan.-based company also operates offices at 1440 E. Kearney St. and 800 State Highway 248 in Branson, as well as a title plant in Forsyth. Continental Title has 19 offices across Missouri and Kansas. Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
