Belamour
Springfield event venue Belamour LLC, in operation since 2015, gained new ownership on Jan. 31. Morgan Boyd, along with her husband, Blake, and sister Riley Brock, purchased the business for undisclosed terms from Kim Bell and her daughter, Kameron. Bell had owned the 4462 W. Farm Road 94 property for the past decade, Boyd said, adding her and Bell’s family are good friends. She said Bell approached her and Blake last year about wanting to sell Belamour to spend more time with her grandchildren, adding they jumped at the opportunity. Boyd said she is handling day-to-day operations with the help of her husband, while Brock is event manager at the three-employee venue, which is open for gatherings such as weddings, showers, parties and corporate events. Photography studio rentals also are available. The 10-acre property has a seating capacity for 175 guests, indoor and outdoor space and private guest homes for bridal parties and groom’s quarters. Wedding prices range $2,500-$4,000, according to its website.

The Wok on West Bypass
One Chinese restaurant replaced another in northwest Springfield with the Feb. 6 opening of The Wok on West Bypass. Owner LeeAnn Tran declined to disclose startup costs for the 334 N. West Bypass eatery, which operates in 2,587 square feet in a building she owns via TG Wok LLC, according to Greene County assessor records. Tran said the previous tenant, China Wok, shuttered last year. The new restaurant is a sister property to The Wok on Scenic, also owned by Tran. She said she and her now ex-husband, Son Tran, opened the 4153 S. Scenic Ave. eatery in 2001 as China Wok, which was unrelated to the closed venture of the same name on West Bypass. She took over full ownership in 2018 and rebranded to The Wok on Scenic in 2021. Menu options include cashew chicken, soups, stir fry and lo mein dishes. Prices range $3-$18. Tran said she wanted a second location of her restaurant to serve a different area of town and recognized a need for more dining options on the northwest side.

Hudson Hawk
Springfield-based Hudson Hawk Barber & Shop closed March 2 on a business purchase that expanded its footprint to Ozark. Brad Hashagen, chief financial officer for Hudson Hawk parent company HH Holding Co. LLC, declined to disclose terms of the acquisition of Outlaw Gentlemen Barber Shop’s Ozark location. He said the downtown Ozark store at 127 E. Church St. transitioned to the Hudson Hawk brand on March 4. Four employees at the shop stayed on board with Hudson Hawk, he said. Outlaw Gentlemen Barber Shop, which opened the 1,400-square-foot Ozark store in 2023, plans to focus on its original location in Rogersville with the sale. Owner Kix Nelson debuted Outlaw Gentlemen in Rogersville in 2017. Hudson Hawk’s website lists 12 locations in Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Four of those shops are in Springfield.
