Awake & Align Yoga and Fitness
Friends and longtime registered nurses who work for CoxHealth, Angie Wisely and Alison Frazier are co-owners of Awake & Align Yoga and Fitness LLC. The business opened March 5 at 2510 S. State Highway MM, Ste. 112, in the Iron Grain District, a mixed-use development. Wisely, who has been a nurse for 21 years, said the plan to open a studio with Frazier was years in the making. The studio offers a variety of yoga classes, including restorative, hot flow, chair, prenatal and 3D immersive, which Wisely said uses technology to create an environment that blends movement, visuals and sounds to deepen relaxation and enhance focus. She said startup costs were around $500,000, but declined to disclose the rate for the 10-year lease they signed with Magers Management Co. At the 3,490-square-foot studio, unlimited classes are $79 per month for a one-year commitment or $89 monthly if a customer wants to pay on a month-to-month basis, according to its Facebook page. Class passes also are sold, ranging $90 for five classes up to $400 for 30 classes.

BluCurrent Credit Union
The fifth and newest branch for BluCurrent Credit Union opened its doors on March 2 in Republic. The branch at 1698 E. U.S. Highway 60 is the credit union’s first in Republic, joining three in Springfield and one in Nixa. Tanner Sublette, marketing manager for BluCurrent, said Williams Construction Co. was general contractor and Kinetic Design and Development LLC served as architect for the roughly 2,600-square-foot branch. Williams Construction and Kinetic also teamed up for BluCurrent’s newest Queen City facility, which opened in December at 3340 W. Sunshine St., in the Sunshine Towne Centre. Sublette declined to disclose startup costs for the Republic branch, which employs five. It features traditional teller stations and a drive-thru, along with interactive teller machines providing 24/7 access to member accounts. Refuge Wellness
After launching in 2017 inside a Republic athletics gym, massage therapy clinic Refuge Wellness relocated Jan. 2 in Nixa, said co-owner Katie Cook. Cook said the clinic temporarily closed Dec. 24 to make the move to 1856 N. Commerce Drive from its prior home at CrossFit Republic, 509 W. State Highway 174. Cook, who co-owns the venture with her husband, Phil, declined to disclose relocation costs and lease terms for the 1,000-square-foot space in Plaza Drive Business Center. She said it is a significant size upgrade from Refuge Wellness’s original 150-square-foot location after starting as a pop-up shop in CrossFit Republic. Cook said leading Refuge Wellness became a full-time career in 2021 after retiring from her physical therapy job with CoxHealth Monett Rehab and Sports Medicine. Services at the four-employee clinic, which serves pediatric and adult clients, include therapeutic and relaxation massage, and kinetic regulation techniques that blend compression, facilitated stretching and targeted movement to calm the nervous system.
