Aviary Café and Creperie LLC Mark and Debbie Burgess opened Aviary Café and Creperie LLC on April 25 at 400 E. Walnut St., Ste. 100. The French-style restaurant serves crepes with fruit, vegetables or meat, as well as panini and soups, executive chef John Allen said. The owners lease the 1,400-square-foot space in the former Hotel Marquette from The Big Ugly Building Co. for an undisclosed amount. Arvest Bank financed the venture for an undisclosed amount. The menu ranges from $4 soups and select crepes to a $20 salmon entrée, according to Debbie Burgess, who said the interior reflects a relaxed and casual theme. Mark Burgess, an airline pilot by trade, launched OzAir Charter Service in 2007 with Bob Noble and Patrick McKee. Advanced Alternative Healthcare LLC Dr. Edward Douglas relocated Advanced Alternative Healthcare LLC on April 4 to 3829 S. Jefferson Ave. from 4730 S. National Ave. Douglas purchased the 3,000-square-foot building from Lee Safety and Environmental Services with a $187,500 loan from Empire Bank and $154,000 through the U.S. Small Business Administration 504 loan program. He invested another $90,000 converting it into a medical clinic. Douglas, who opened Advanced Alternative Healthcare in 2005, is an independent osteopathic physician offering osteopathic manipulation, medical acupuncture, herbal medicine and other alternative medical services. Missouri Enterprise Missouri Enterprise, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping local manufacturers remain competitive in the United States, relocated its Springfield office to the Jordan Valley Innovation Center, 524 N. Boonville Ave., on April 1. Jeff Lambeth, the southwest Missouri business manager for Missouri Enterprise, said the group leases the JVIC space for an undisclosed amount. Allen Kunkel, JVIC director and associate vice president for economic development at Missouri State University, said Missouri Enterprise fits with the center’s vision for developing entrepreneurship and innovation. Missouri Enterprise, which was established nearly 20 years ago, operates offices in St. Louis, Kansas City, Cape Girardeau and Rolla and provides assistance to manufacturers through sales, marketing and design programs.
