Art Inspired
Art Inspired, a division of nonprofit organization Abilities First, relocated May 11 down the street to 331 S. Campbell Ave., the former home of Modern Society clothing store. Manager Jason Mathews said the move increases potential foot traffic and exposure at the art store and gallery. The 2,700-square-foot space is leased from Scott Tillman for undisclosed terms. Mathews estimated startup costs between $500-$1,000, and he said the store employs about a dozen, including individuals with developmental disabilities. Art Inspired opened in August 2012, at 310 S. Campbell Ave., as a social enterprise contracting with companies for document disposal. Mathews said the nonprofit has scaled down the shredding business. Hours: 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and noon–8 p.m. Saturday. Phone: (417) 868-8084. Web: ArtInspired.me
