Greg Lee opened alcohol delivery service Alco-Haul on March 1 at 1307 E. Montclair St. Alco-Haul, which operates similar to a catering service, carries beer, wine, liquor, mixers, snacks and party supplies. Lee, who also owns two UPS stores in Springfield, received a $25,000 loan from Metropolitan Bank to start the business, and he leases the 1,200-square-foot building from C&B Properties for $850 per month. Lee received his liquor license in February. With a $15 minimum order, delivery fees are $3 in Springfield and $10 out of town. Lee said customers must provide valid IDs, with driver’s license numbers and dates of birth, and a signed waiver stating that they are of legal drinking age. The Bank of Missouri
Perryville-based The Bank of Missouri opened an Ozark branch April 29 at 1301 W. South St. Community Bank President Mick Nitsch said the bank acquired the building from Liberty Bank and invested $1.5 million in the acquisition and renovations. The 6,000-square-foot branch, which employs seven full-time with two part-time tellers, replaced Bank of Missouri’s limited-service, walk-up facility at 1503 W. Highway J. Nitsch said Bank of Missouri purchased a second Springfield branch from Liberty Bank, set to open June 13 at 2760 S. Kansas Expressway. With 13 branches, including Springfield and Republic sites, Nitsch said the Bank of Missouri reported assets of $825.9 million in the first quarter. Bella Hair Salon
Janet Chappell opened Bella Hair Salon on April 30 at 1711 W. Battlefield, Ste. 27, in Salon Suites. Chappell, who has 21 years of experience cutting and styling hair, leases the salon space for $115 per week. Bella Hair Salon provides cuts, perms, pedicures, manicures, chemical straightening and waxing. Chappell said women’s haircuts cost $30, and men’s haircuts are $20.
