Advantage Therapy LLC added a second clinic June 5 at 1845 E. Turner St., Ste. E, in Kmart Plaza at Kearney Street and Glenstone Avenue. Targeting north-side employers and occupational injuries, Patient Care Coordinator Andrea Graddy said five therapists float between the two clinics offering physical, occupational and certified hand therapy. Services include post-surgical rehabilitation, pain management and work injuries for such ailments as back and neck pain, rotator cuff surgery and strokes. Graddy said the north-side clinic also is filling a specialty care need for commercial insurance payers in the communities of Strafford, Fair Grove and Willard. Independently owned and operated by therapist Chuck Renner, Advantage Therapy leases the former H&R Block office space from Bev’s Properties LLC. Hours: 7 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The 1,600-square-foot store, previously occupied by Relax Magic and Well Fed Head Books, sells comics, graphic novels, collectible action figures, posters and T-shirts, said owner Josh Roberts. The former Vintage Stock store manager said prices range from a 50 cent comic back issue to several hundred dollars for a collectible piece. The sole employee with 16 years of experience in the comic book and retail industry, Roberts said he also buys and trades used comics. He signed a lease through R.B. Murray Co. for terms undisclosed. Dynamic Custom Security
Laura Crowder opened Dynamic Custom Security on July 1 at 1736 E. Sunshine St., Ste. 711, in Plaza Towers. The four-employee company plans, installs and monitors commercial alarm and surveillance systems, said Crowder, who since 2006 has worked for Care Systems renting emergency response and monitoring equipment to seniors. Crowder’s parents founded Care Systems in 1997, and she serves as executive director. Crowder also started nonprofit Safe at Home in 2007 to provide independent-living seniors with medical alert units. In her new venture, Crowder said security monitoring starts at $40 per month and tops out at $120 monthly, including integration with fire alarms. Dynamic Custom Security also offers temperature monitoring, which logs commercial cooler temperatures throughout the day and sends alerts of drastic swings, and GPS tracking systems for location monitoring of company fleets. Hours: 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 883-1380. Web: DynamicCustomSecurity.com
