Acupuncture and Herbal Solutions of Springfield LLC
Licensed acupuncturist Shane Burr started Acupuncture and Herbal Solutions of Springfield LLC on Aug. 4 at 3165 S. Campbell Ave., Unit B-3. After graduating from Florida College of Integrative Medicine in June, Burr returned to the Ozarks and personally financed the $20,000 startup, mostly for office supplies, software and remodeling at Young’s Plaza. Burr says the clinic offers Eastern medicine, such as acupuncture, tuina, a traditional massage therapy, and moxibustion, a heated herbal skin treatment. Burr contracts with vendors Mayway and KPC for herbal pills and custom powder formulas. He says acupuncture starts at $80, and herbal pills range from $12-$17 per bottle, which last about a week. Burr, who has passed four boards by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, signed a three-year lease with tiered rates beginning at $500 per month. Knoxville, Tenn.-based Cellular Sales operates over 550 stores and employs some 4,000 associates nationwide. The Bolivar store currently is hiring a wireless sales representative, according to the company’s website. The company, founded in 1993, was named by Inc. Following a May 25 fire, Computer Recycling Center LLC relocated to 528 N. Prince Lane and began accepting material Aug. 9. Its longtime home at 1434 N. National Ave. suffered smoke and water damage from an electrical malfunction, said Paden Wilcox, who handles the center’s customer relations. The temporary office on Prince Lane became permanent two months ago, when National Avenue building owner Ken Reiss decided not to repair the damage. In the move, the center doubled its square footage to 15,000 and added a data destruction lab viewable to customers, as well as a research and development area. Computer Recycling Center accepts electronics at no cost and TVs, microwaves and fluorescent bulbs for a fee, Wilcox said. Hours: 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Phone: (417) 866-2588.
