A hip joint Nixa LLC
LeAnne Aust is owner and franchisee of chiropractic clinic A hip joint Nixa LLC, which opened Feb. 1 at 380 E. Highway CC, Ste. A105, in the Washington Center. The Nixa clinic is the first franchise location of A hip joint Springfield LLC, started in 2016 by Drs. Eric and Tania Reavis. The first A hip joint clinic opened in downtown Springfield, followed in 2019 by a second site on East Republic Road. Aust previously owned massage therapy business Back to Balance LLC in Republic for around two years. She closed it in 2019 to join the staff of A hip joint. The company website lists franchise royalty fees of 6% and marketing fees of 2%. The 3,000-square-foot Nixa clinic employs seven, led by Dr. Will Lewis, Aust said, declining to disclose her franchise and startup costs. She signed a three-year lease with D-Man Rentals LLC for an undisclosed rate. A hip joint clinics offer chiropractic, massage and acupuncture services.

Cup of Joe’s
Nixa gained another drive-thru coffee shop Dec. 7 when Cup of Joe’s launched at 813 N. Main St., in the parking lot of Cobblestone Village. First-time business owner and sole employee Joseph Weatherly said startup costs, including purchase of a trailer, were around $25,000. He declined to disclose lease terms with landlord Dan Knight. Weatherly said he saved every penny he could to put into the business during the past year of employment as a direct support professional for The Arc of the Ozarks. He left the nonprofit in October to focus on Cup of Joe’s. He said inspiration to start a coffee shop came after a pair of visits to Italy, where he learned about espresso. At Cup of Joe’s, he serves hot and iced drinks, such as lattes, cappuccino and espresso, with prices ranging $2-$5. It’s the second mobile coffee shop to recently open in Nixa, following the November launch of Chance of Sno & Coffee Co. LLC.

Health and Endocan Products LLC
CBD store Health and Endocan Products LLC opened Nov. 28 in Willard at 520 E. Jackson St., Ste. 7. Located in Prairie View Shopping Center across from Willard High School, the 1,200-square-foot shop is a first-time venture for Lorna Fletcher. She declined to disclose startup costs or lease terms with PV LLC. Health and Endocan Products sells items infused with CBD, such as edibles, tinctures, soft gels, sprays and bath bombs. Skin, hair and pet care products containing CBD also are available, according to the company website. Prices generally range $25-$50. Fletcher, who is the shop’s lone employee and previously worked as a sales coordinator with TLG Peterbilt in Strafford, said her past positive results using CBD products inspired her to open the business.
