Nicki Wolverton opened 417 Learning Center on Jan. 30 at 3520 S. Culpepper Circle, Ste. C, near the intersection of National Avenue and Primrose Street. Wolverton, a certified elementary education teacher through Missouri State University, leases the 4,200-square-foot space for an undisclosed amount from The Winnie Group Inc. The center employs 12 and offers child care services for children ranging in ages from six weeks to 12 years. Wolverton said the center currently enrolls 20 kids and is licensed for 57 through the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. Rates are $170 per week for infants and toddlers; $140 a week for 2-year-olds, and $120 a week for preschool and prekindergarten students. Before- and after-school care also is available. Gourmet Lunchbox LLC
Gourmet Lunchbox LLC on Jan. 18 began serving patrons homemade artisan sandwiches, soups and salads at 3433 S. Campbell Ave., Ste. C. Joshua Frieze and Joshua Barrack lease the space, also home to the Commercial Kitchen, from Carol Muldrow for an undisclosed amount. Frieze and Barrack, the deli’s only employees, each has 15 years of restaurant experience, with Frieze most recently working as executive chef for Sky Ute Casino in southern Colorado. Frieze said most of the produce for the restaurant comes from his six-acre farm in Willard. All items at the Gourmet Lunchbox are under $10, he said. Hours: 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Sandy’s Print Shop
Sandra Wiggington started Sandy’s Print Shop on Feb. 13 at 2116 S. Stewart St. Wiggington purchased the print shop from Letsch Promotional Advertising, which still performs promotional work on site. Wiggington, the shop’s lone employee, said she has been screen-printing for nine years with various companies, and she learned to screen-print at Third Street Sportswear in Ozark. Sandy’s Print Shop offers custom printed T-shirts for businesses, sports teams, family reunions and special events. Hours: 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 988-4381.
