Cheryl Hom April 12 opened Stroller Strides, offering 50-minute fitness classes allowing moms to exercise with their children in strollers. Classes are held at St. John’s Fitness Center and Hom plans to offer classes in Nixa as well. Stroller Strides, based in San Marcos, Calif., has more than 200 licensees operating in the United States. A Springfield native, Hom worked in human resources and as a paralegal for a decade in San Diego. She took Stroller Strides classes there three years ago after the birth of her daughter. After returning to the area and having a son, Hom felt there was a niche to be filled, and she purchased the rights to Springfield and Nixa.
