Downtown Minuteman Press opened April 15 at 334 E. Walnut St. in the old Guaranty Federal building. Rick Taylor and son Ron Taylor purchased Central Printing in the Bay-Wilhoit Building, 433 S. Jefferson Ave., in July and converted the print shop to a Minuteman Press franchise, one of more than 880 nationwide. Rick Taylor manages four employees at the 1,700-square-foot Springfield location. Ron Taylor also is the Minuteman Press franchisee in Lebanon. Rick Taylor said that Downtown Minuteman Press offers high-speed color copying, black-and-white copying, business cards and four-color processing. Hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Buzbee Dental opened its new 13,232-square-foot clinic April 11 at 1244 E. Lark St. Gary L. Buzbee, DDS, his brother, Roger Buzbee, DDS, and Gary Buzbee’s sons, Todd and Tyler Buzbee, relocated from two clinics – 2022 S. National Ave. and 204 W. Chesterfield Blvd. Practice Administrator Lori Marsh said the clinic has 20 full-time and three part-time staff. Gary Buzbee established the practice in 1977. Hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday and Thursday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, and 8 a.m.-noon Friday.

Bill and Juli Stovall purchased Branson’s two Cappuccino Country shops – nearly 4,000 square feet at 3044 Shepherd of the Hills Expressway in Victorian Village and 1,600 square feet at 1335 W. Hwy. 76 in Engler Block – Nov. 17 from Earl and Nancy Apprill. The Apprills started the business in 1993. Bill Stovall said there are five full-time and five part-time employees. The shops prepare hot and iced coffee beverages and sell gourmet coffees, teas, cocoas and corporate gift baskets. The Victorian Village store is open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and the Engler Block location is open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. daily.

CJ Banks opened April 8 in Battlefield Mall at 2825 S. Glenstone Ave. The store is owned by Christopher & Banks Corp. of Minneapolis, which has more than 634 stores in 44 states, including a Christopher & Banks store in Battlefield Mall. There are more than 150 CJ Banks stores nationwide, selling women’s apparel in sizes 14 and up. Store Manager Janet Lakin said the 3,551-square-foot store has three full-time and five part-time employees. Hours are 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sunday.

DB Design Salon & Gallery opened March 30 in 1,100 square feet at 326 S. Campbell Ave., the former site of The Stock Exchange used clothing store. “Combining the artistry of hair and the art gallery” makes the business unique, owner Duane Bone said. Three hair stylists and one nail technician are independent contractors, and the shop employs two receptionists. The work of local and international artists is displayed, including jewelry, pottery and paintings. Hours are 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.
