Silver Gypsy reopened June 2 in 2,000 square feet at 1328 E. Battlefield in Fremont Center. Owners Julie and Robert Loss originally opened the store in May 2003 at 1901 S. Glenstone Ave. in Plaza Towers Shopping Center. The move gives Silver Gypsy 500 additional square feet and more exposure, Julie Loss said. The store’s inventory includes silver jewelry, gifts, T-shirts, accessories and candles. Hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday.
Cornerstone Appraisal Services LLC opened May 31 at 334 E. Kearney. The business is co-owned by Sean Sutton and Sherie Payne, a certified real estate appraiser. The firm conducts real estate appraisals for residential and two-to-four-family income producing properties, Sutton said. Both formerly did appraisals for Long Appraisal Co. – Sutton for one year, and Payne for 10 years. The co-owners are the only employees of the firm. Hours are 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Worn But Not Forgotten opened May 2 at 1676 U.S. Highway 60 East in Republic’s Town East Shopping Center. Owners Jill and Ben Wells stock the 1,500-square-foot shop with new and used clothing for men, women and children. About half of the inventory is new, Ben Wells said, adding that the merchandise is “mostly name brands, hip and trendy.” Jill Wells is the only employee. Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Flowerflairy opened May 31 as a home-based floral business. Owner Luann Widemann prepares fresh flower arrangements for weddings, funerals and other occasions. She has about 10 years of experience working as a florist in Springfield and hopes to expand with a storefront. The unusual name of her business, she said, came from her now 4-year-old granddaughter’s attempts to pronounce “flower fairy.” Widemann may be reached at (417) 833-8978. Hours are by appointment.
