Bridges for Youth, 834 N. National, an after-school center for junior and high school students, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Aug. 13 with the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce. The company, founded five years ago by Steve Hare, works with teens to provide a positive environment while combating violence, drugs and negative influences. Bridges for Youth is a not-for-profit community-supported organization.
