Springfield Cards & Collectibles is open at 1330 S. Glenstone Ave. Leaving no doubts to his allegiance, owner Roger C. Jones has a banner above the door that reads, "If You're A St. Louis Cardinals Fan, You've Just Found Heaven." Jones carries trading cards and memorabilia from all the teams in most major sports. When he opened the store Sept. 15, he expected most of his business from trading card collectors, but since Sept. 11, customers have been buying autographs and memorabilia. He said "Since the terrorist attacks people have become less materialistic and more nostalgic ... People are remembering safe, happier times." Store hours are 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.
Office Outfitters of Southwest Missouri opened for business Oct. 1 at 165 E. Hwy. CC in Nixa. Owned by Chris Hammon, the company is an office supplies and furniture distributor. Including Hammon, the company has three full-time employees and one part-time employee. Employees visit clients on-site, and they also conduct much of their business via the telephone. Some merchandise, such as paper and toner, is kept in stock, but the majority of the products are delivered via overnight shipping. Office Outfitters of Southwest Missouri is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
