Carol Williams, assistant manager of the Kearney location, said the restaurant has 135 employees and cost more than $2 million to build. It is open 10:45 a.m.-9:30 p.m. except for Friday and Saturday nights when it closes at 10:30 p.m. The restaurant is closed on Mondays. The corporation has had a presence in Springfield since 1990, when it opened the restaurant at 2501 S. Campbell Ave. There are more than 300 Ryan's Family Steak Houses in 22 states, including 19 in Missouri. The company is publicly traded on the NASDAQ under the symbol RYAN.|ret||ret||tab|

Springfield is home to the first |bold_on|O'Sullivan Furniture Factory Outlet Store. The Lamar-based furniture manufacturer opened the discount store April 1 at 319 E. Battlefield Road. It is open 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday. The 6,100-square-foot outlet store offers discounts on closeout furniture for the home, office and storage. O'Sullivan Furniture supplies retail stores like Wal-Mart, OfficeMax, Office Depot, Target, Staples and Lowe's. The company has more than 2 million square feet of manufacturing and distribution space in Lamar, with more than 2,200 employee-partners.|ret||ret||tab|

|bold_on|The Mutual Fund Store, an independent full-service investment management and advisory firm, opened an office at 4933 E. Hwy. 60. The firm was founded in 1996 and has four locations: St. Louis, San Diego and its headquarters in Overland Park, Kan. It is a fee-based investment advisory firm that focuses exclusively on mutual funds and manages assets in excess of $250 million. Terry Conner, CFP, managing partner, oversees the Springfield location. Conner is former president of the Springfield-based financial planning firm Wealth Management.
