J. Parrino's has returned to downtown Springfield as a deli. Parrino's Italian Deli opened at 301 South Ave. Aug. 19 after nine months of remodeling. It is a project of Ken Rigby, owner of J. Parrino's Pasta House and Bar on East Battlefield, and two partners, Dan Edwards and Paul Epps (pictured). The trio performed all of the $165,000 in renovations except the electrical, heating/air conditioning and plumbing work. Edwards said the remodeling included the laying of hardwood floors, exposing interior brick and cabinetry work. The deli offers 20 sandwiches, 12 salads, pasta, and homemade soups and desserts. It also sells packaged beer and wine as well as liquor by the bottle, and has convenience-store items like cigarettes, candy, gum, milk and coffee. Edwards said they are targeting the downtown lunch crowd and college students in the evening. It is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 11 a.m.-3 a.m. Thursday through Saturday. J. Parrino's had a location in the Herr's building before it closed.
Springfield Wealth Advisors Inc., a Royal Alliance Associates Inc.-registered investment advisor, moved Aug. 1 to 3556 Culpepper Circle, Ste. 4A. President Michael Horn said the move puts two Royal Alliance offices under one roof; Brierly Financial Services already has its office there. "We've moved our offices together so we could share costs and ideas," Horn said. Royal Alliance is a national independent broker/dealer.
Horn operated from the Plaza Towers for 12 years. Springfield Wealth Advisors is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
A family clothing resale shop called Clad Connection opened in Republic on Aug. 21. Pam Cotter owns the 1,250-square-foot store at 249 U.S. Highway 60 West in the Southwest Plaza Shopping Center. Cotter relocated it from Mt. Vernon, where she also owns and operates a bridal shop, The Wedding Connection, and plans to open a lingerie store Oct. 1 named PK's PJ's and More.
She chose the Republic location because of its good visibility. "It's a real growing community," Cotter said.
Clad Connection is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday.
