Mo-Tux, a tuxedo rental shop, opened Nov. 1 at 454 W. Battlefield Road. Mo-Tux occupies half the space of the former Skeffing-ton's Formal Wear, which closed Oct. 31, said new owner Justin Schwartz (pictured). Schwartz, publisher of Ozarks Bride, a wedding resource guide, acquired 25 percent of Skeffington's inventory, and has 400 in-stock tuxedos and access to other vendors. "All we are doing is changing the name and giving the store a face lift," Schwartz said. "Everything else will stay the same." It is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, except Thursday, when it closes at 8 p.m.
Road House Cycles, a motorcycle shop, opened for business Nov. 21 at 1046 W. Sunshine St. The shop, owned by Pat and Julie McNamee, sells American v-twin motorcycles including Harley Davidson, and motorcycle parts, apparel and accessories including glasses, leather products, helmets, shirts, gloves and patches, said Eric Gudell, general manager. It has a 2,900-square-foot product showroom and small shop for service work, Gudell said. Road House Cycles is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and noon-4 p.m. Sunday.
Beverly Healthcare Hospice Care Facility opened Oct. 15 at 996 State Highway 248 in Branson. The 12-bed hospice wing is an addition to Beverly Healthcare's 100-bed skilled care nursing center, according to Bill Willet, executive director. "The need to provide hospice care for residents and their family members in the area has helped us develop the program," Willet said. Services offered by its 50-employees include physical, speech and occupational therapy, rehabilitation nutritional programming and recreation, Willet added.
Father and son Tony and Allen Wright opened Wright's Brew Works Nov. 1 at 3211 S. Scenic Ave., Ste. B. "We sell home brewing supplies for beer and wine," Tony Wright said of the business that began as a hobby. Wright is a welder of 30 years, having worked at Paul Mueller Company and Precision Stainless before opening the business, which still allows him some steel fabrication of brewing products. Allen Wright manages the 1,000-square-foot store and is the company's Web master. The Web site, www.wrightsbrewworks.com, began selling product a year ago. It is open 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.
