Packy Savvenas, Bill Gilbert Jr. and Billy Gilbert III on Aug. 24 opened Power Of The Web LLC, 1722 S. Glenstone, Ste. M, a design firm for Internet sites and printed products. Savvenas, a Springfield native who has been building Web pages for four years, financed the operation with the help of the Gilberts, who own four Arby’s Roast Beef Restaurants in Springfield. Savvenas has won four Web-design awards – Mars Award, Dezines Award, Muster Award and Web Works Design Award – and works out of a 1,000-square-foot office. Rates range from $700 to $8,000. Hours are 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Chad Brodersen, an insurance agent with six years of experience, opened an American Family Insurance office June 1 at 4730 S. National, Ste. C-2. Brodersen, who has worked for State Farm Insurance in Columbia, provides insurance for auto, home, business, life and health, as well as loans, annuities and individual retirement accounts at his 1,100-square-foot office. Hours are 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.–noon Saturday.
