Larry Schrimpf and Dustin Curtit opened Planet Sub on Nov. 5 at 533 S. Kimbrough. Schrimpf said the 63-seat restaurant has fast-food prices but food of higher quality, including baked subs, soups and salads. Most 6-inch sandwiches run $3.89, and a combo meal is $5.49, according to Schrimpf. “It’s got a great college feel to it,” he said about Planet Sub’s proximity to Missouri State University. Schrimpf and Curtit also own a Planet Sub in Warrensburg that opened in January 2004. Both are subsidiaries of Premier Management Group Inc. Hours are 10 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.
Mountain Man Nut and Fruit Co.
Robert and Judy Hartley moved Mountain Man Nut and Fruit Co. to a larger location Sept. 7. The store left 10,000 square feet of space at 4210 Gretna Road in Branson to occupy 11,475 square feet at 3300 Gretna Road, Ste. A, now serving as the anchor tenant of Branson Mill Craft Village. Judy Hartley said the store offers 3,000 different products with an emphasis on gourmet chocolates and other snacks, coffees, soups and juices. Customers can hear live music at the store during select hours April through December. The store has 10 full-time employees but as many as 45 working there during busy seasons. Hartley said about 250,000 tourists visit the store yearly. Through the end of the year Hours are 8 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Sunday. Hours will switch to 10 a.m.–6 p.m. daily in January and February.
Procycle
Ozark Cycles Inc. opened a second Procycle store in Springfield on July 1. The new location, 2960 N. Eastgate, sells and services Honda all-terrain vehicles, scooters and watercraft. According to Jeremy Burt, an employee at Procycle’s Columbia store, the new store has 44,000 square feet and employs 40. The other Springfield store, 350 S. Ingram Mill, sells Yamaha equipment. Hours are 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
