Dave and Jamie Harp opened High Strung on April 7 at 410 South Ave. The music store caters to acoustic musicians, especially blue grass and folk performers. The store offers guitars, specialty products and a variety of music accessories. Harp said the store employs eight and offers private lessons by appointment and open jam sessions 6–9 p.m. each Wednesday. The Harps rent the 1,700 square-foot space from Bruno Gargiulo. Gordon’s Feed and Pet

John Gayer opened Gordon’s Feed and Pet on Feb. 21 at 1420 S. Bradford Lane. General Manager Josh Barber said the store employs two and provides animal feed and ancillary services. The Bradford Lane location is the fifth in the Ozarks. Other locations include Marshfield and Rogersville. Costs of services vary, depending on whether a client is purchasing for a single pet or in bulk for a herd of cattle, Barber said. Gayer leases the 3,000 square-foot space from Jim Bradford. Hours: 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.–3 p.m. on Saturdays, closed Sundays. Phone: (417) 869-333.

Pro-Factors Payroll Service

Brian Weimer, owner of Pro-Factors Payroll Service, moved to Springfield on May 30, opening an office at 318 Park Central East, Ste. 306. The company operated from 2001 W. Broadway in Bolivar for more than three years. Pro-Factors Payroll employs two and provides payroll services to the greater Springfield area. Costs of services vary depending on the size of the payroll, but all start at $20. Weimer said the majority of the company’s clients are based in Springfield, so he took the opportunity to relocate. Pro-Factors Payroll leases the 2,200 square-foot office from Springfield Properties LLC. Hours: 8 a.m.–noon and 1–5 p.m. Monday through Friday, closed Saturdays and Sundays. Phone: (417) 883-4041.
