Karl Jones opened Linda’s Flowers and Karl’s Tuxedoes and Bridal on April 13 at 291 W. Highway 60, in Republic. Jones acquired the store, located in the Plaza Shopping Center, from Republic Floral & Gift LLC. The Republic shop, which employs six, expands Jones’ delivery service area to Republic and farther west. The Republic location is the third flower shop and third tuxedo and bridal store for Jones. The main store is at 1303 E. Battlefield in Springfield. Hours: 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Saturday. Phone: (417) 732-7272.

Branson Bill’s Emporium

Dave and Kim King on March 2 acquired Branson Bill’s Emporium, 110 W. Main in Branson, from Mickey Williams. Dave King said the store has two full-time employees and two part-time employees. King leases the 2,100-square-foot space from Jeff Young. Prices range from 99-cent novelty items to $100 collectable dolls. King said he is happy to be a part of maintaining the integrity of downtown. Spherion

Damon Holland opened a Spherion staffing office on Feb. 1 at 1340 W. Battlefield, Ste. 6. Holland, the Springfield franchisee, said the office employs two internally and has 60 contract employees. Spherion offers staffing services to industrial, clerical and professional businesses in the Springfield area. Holland leases the 1,100-square-foot office space from Beechwood Office Complex. Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment. Phone: (417) 889-8868.
