Meek’s The Builder’s Choice opened Meek’s Design Center on Aug. 21 at 3231 N. Glenstone Ave. The center carries millwork products, including door and window hardware, and columns for residential construction. It boasts a 7,500-square-foot showroom and 4,000-square-foot warehouse. The center combines a 1,200-square-foot showroom in Rogersville and a 2,000-square-foot resource and design center on East Woodhurst in Springfield, according to Tom Buckner, district and center manager. Goforth Construction
Mike Waters is Springfield division manager for Grandview-based Goforth Construction LLC. Waters began bidding commercial construction jobs in Springfield on June 1. He plans to serve Joplin and northwest Arkansas from Springfield with as many as 25 employees, once a physical office is open. He plans to begin hiring and to move into office space by year-end. Goforth Construction, which had 2005 revenues of $70 million, also has an office in Memphis, Tenn., and plans to open an office in Phoenix within six months. Phone: (417) 569-9399.
The Pizza Stop
Omar and Jill Barron opened The Pizza Stop on July 27 at 1645 W. Republic Road, Ste. J. The couple opened it through Longhorn Grill Inc., which is also the name of a restaurant they opened in 2002 next door to The Pizza Stop in Remington’s Corner. Joey’s Only Seafood previously operated from the spot. The Pizza Stop features a lunch buffet during the week and carryout service. A large one-topping pizza is $9.29.
