Terry and Pat Hicklin opened a second Candy House Gourmet Chocolates in Springfield on Sept. 15 at 2936 E. Sunshine St. The store sells hand-dipped chocolates and gourmet candies and foods. Bonnie Hicklin, their daughter, is district manager. Joplin-based Candy House Gourmet Chocolates also operates two Joplin stores and a store on South Campbell Avenue. Soma Massage Therapy of Springfield
Dawn Solko bought majority ownership in Soma Massage Therapy of Springfield on Oct. 2. Solko, who operates the business, bought 80 percent ownership, while Nanette Burnett and former majority owner Kirby Holbrook also hold ownership. Soma Massage Therapy features traditional, hot-stone, pre- and post-pregnancy and lymph drainage massage therapy. It charges $60 for an hour of traditional massage. Cindy and Steve Irwin opened Life By Design Counseling Center LLC on June 15 at 4730 S. National Ave., Ste. B-1, in National Office Place. Cindy Irwin, a Missouri-licensed therapist with a master’s degree in family counseling from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, provides premarital counseling, marriage therapy, family counseling and sex therapy from a Christian perspective.
