Ted Geiger, Mandi Boehringer, Jeff Constance and Mark Otter opened J. Buck’s Restaurant on Nov. 16 at the Battlefield Mall. The eatery is part of the mall’s new lifestyle center on its east side. J. Buck’s features sandwiches, pasta and steaks among other items, with lunches about $8 and dinners about $15. The walls are decorated with framed photos of its namesakes, the late St. Louis Cardinals announcer Jack Buck and his son, commentator Joe Buck. The Buck family sold naming rights to the owners in 1999. This location of J. Buck’s is the first outside the St. Louis area. Social Suppers
Kristin and Jeff Young opened Social Suppers on Sept. 25 at 3655 E. Sunshine St. Social Suppers, registered with the state as Two Young LLC, features stations where customers assemble dinner packages that they take home, freeze and reheat later. Social Suppers is meant to take the place of grocery shopping and time-consuming cooking. Kristin Young said a 12-meal package costs $199. US Golf Performance Specialists
Physical therapist Gerry Catapang opened US Golf Performance Specialists on Aug. 8. US Golf Performance Specialists, 3003 E. Chestnut Expressway, Ste. 108, is a division of Catapang’s Physical Therapy Care, Manual Physical Therapy and Industrial Rehab Center PC. Catapang received his training for US Golf Performance Specialists through Texas-based GoLo Golf LLC. An examination, which is meant to evaluate and improve golfers’ bodies in relation to their golf swings, is $60. Hours: 6:30 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 268-8936.
