Scott and Allison Martin started TheStandStore.com on Oct. 8. The online store, a division of TSS Group LLC, offers about 3,000 home-entertainment furniture items, ranging in price from $100 to $7,500, said Scott Martin, who previously worked as one of two information technology directors for Bass Pro Shops. Glenn Atkinson opened Modern Cabinets of Springfield, a division of Modern Exteriors of Springfield Inc., on Oct. 11 at 2202 N. Grant Ave. Modern Cabinets of Springfield sells cabinets for residential and commercial remodeling and construction out of a 1,700-square-foot showroom. It has a warehouse about a mile away at 810 W.
