James and Cassie Olson opened their first Oaxacafé Coffee Co. retail stand on April 7 inside Summer Fresh Supermarket, 220 W. Plainview Road. Oaxacafe Coffee Co. is a roasting and wholesale coffee company at 309 E. Water St., but this stand adds a new dimension to the company. Marshfield-based Summer Fresh Supermarkets Inc. is the licensee and operates the stand, which sells coffee, cappuccino, Italian soda, flavored tea, smoothies, pastries and other snacks to grocery customers. The stand and its products display Oaxacafé Coffee Co. branding, and Summer Fresh bought all the equipment and received training from Oaxacafé Coffee Co. James Olson calls the stand a turn-key and said he hopes to have several more coffee stands open within the next year, noting negotiations with officials at Jordan Valley Ice Park. Interested licensees can expect $45,000 to $65,000 in startup costs. Hours: 7:30 a.m.–7 p.m. seven days a week. Phone: (417) 881-9910.
