Matt Bekebrede opened Vino 100 on April 20 at 2145 W. Republic Road in Republic Plaza. Vino 100 offers 120 wine labels – 100 of them for $25 or less – 40 types of cigars, and gourmet foods, including cheese, chocolate and salad dressings. Bekebrede is a first-time franchisee for Philadelphia-based Vino 100, which has 65 stores nationwide. The Vino 100 franchising fee is $30,000, and the average investment is $125,000, according to the company’s Web site. Bekebrede has worked as restaurant manager at Chardonnay and Chateau on the Lake and as clubhouse manager at Millwood Golf and Racquet Club. Energy In Motion: The Natural Healing Center
Emmale Judycki relocated Energy In Motion: The Natural Healing Center LLC on May 1 to 2053 S. Waverly Ave., Ste. B. For more than a year, she operated at 1942 E. Meadowmere St., Ste. 112. Judycki and nine practitioners offer healing-energy therapy through light-touch procedures, including Reiki, a Japanese stress-reduction technique. JY’Z Custom Smokers
Jay Miller started JY’Z Custom Smokers on April 1. Miller, operating under the banner of Grills Gone Wild LLC, makes custom smokers, ranging from $500 to $25,000. He’s already completed two orders, and he’s working on three more. Miller, who also owns Ron Miller Hardware, 435 S. Ingram Mill Road, and the home-based The Garden of Eatin’ catering said he learned to build smokers for his own enjoyment. Now, Miller builds the smokers in the back of his hardware store during off hours, but he’s considering opening a separate storefront for JY’Z Custom Smokers. Phone: (417) 840-9711.
