Richard and Kelly Harman relocated and renamed their tae kwon do school Jan. 2. The couple opened ATA Martial Arts under the newly formed banner of Springfield Martial Arts LLC at 1440 W. Republic Road in Quail Creek Plaza. They had operated Harman’s ATA Black Belt Academy at 2956 E. Sunshine St. for 12 years. While both locations are about 3,500 square feet, Richard Harman said the new location makes better use of the space. Since moving, the Harmans have nearly doubled their enrollment to 200. ATA Martial Arts is one of about 1,500 licensed schools internationally for Little Rock, Ark.-based American Taekwondo Association, which was established in 1969. Richard and Kelly Harman, who together teach about 30 classes weekly, both have advanced black belts. Hours are during scheduled classes or by appointment. Phone: (417) 889-9312.
