Paul and April Speed opened Paul Speed Photography on May 12. Paul Speed, who spent 15 years as art and creative director for advertising agencies in Chicago, focuses on advertising photography. He can shoot on location or in his home-based studio – a 3,500-square-foot, 110-year-old renovated barn on three rural acres near downtown Ozark. Allied Roofing Systems
Clint Tackitt moved Allied Roofing Systems LLC on May 17. The seven-year-old commercial roofing installation company now operates from a 2,100-square-foot building it owns at 655 S. Campbell Ave. after formerly leasing 2,000 square feet at 2925 E. Chestnut Expressway. The company also plans to break ground in July on an 8,000-square-foot warehouse equipped with numerous “green” features, including recycled materials and 12 inches of plants and soil on the roof to prevent storm water runoff. Back Yard Burgers
Brothers Kevin, Michael and Donald Rolf opened Back Yard Burgers on May 18 at 4020 S. Campbell Ave. They purchased that location, along with one in Fayetteville, Ark., from Susan McCollegan for $1.1 million. The Rolfs now own eight Back Yard Burgers locations in Missouri and Arkansas, including ones in Nixa, Ozark, Branson and Springfield, next to Battlefield Market Place. Memphis, Tenn.-based Back Yard Burgers has about 180 locations in 21 states. Hours: 10:30 a.m.–11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m.–midnight Friday and Saturday. Phone: (417) 883-0005.
