Andy Morrison is manager for Chipotle Mexican Grill, which opened June 29 at 3356 S. Campbell Ave., in a building formerly occupied by La Carreta Mexican restaurant. Chipotle serves burritos, tacos and salads in a fast-casual dining atmosphere, similar to Qdoba Mexican Grill, according to Chipotle spokeswoman Jennifer Tilliss. The Springfield restaurant is one of more than 600 corporately owned locations nationwide for Denver-based Chipotle, which was founded in 1993. Chipotle opened its first Missouri location in 1999 in Kansas City, according to spokesman Ben Neis. There are now more than 10 Chipotle locations around Kansas City, St. Louis and Columbia. Chipotle features food made with naturally raised meat. Hours: 11 a.m.–10 p.m. seven days a week. Phone: (417) 883-1944.
Blu Skies Hair Art Studio
Katie Stracke, Kami Powell, Lindsi Unterreiner, James Meyer and Phillip Burmood opened Blu Skies Hair Art Studio on April 1 at 600 W. College, Ste. 112, in the Monarch Art Factory. Stracke, who worked at A Valeria Boss Salon prior to opening Blu Skies, said the stylists opened the business because they wanted to work for themselves. Haircuts are $25 for men and $30 for women. Coby Neill Creative
Coby Neill opened Coby Neill Creative on Feb. 1, offering advertising design and copy writing for clients in Springfield and Branson. Neill has 25 years of experience in advertising, most recently working with Noble for six years. Coby Neill Creative services and projects include billboards, brochures, illustration, photography, radio and TV commercials, and Web site layout and design. Neill said his style is visually simple.
