Dr. Carrie Arquitt opened Child Style Dental on June 21 at 3045 S. Delaware Ave. Child Style Dental features pediatric dentistry, with Arquitt as the sole practitioner. She was named one of Springfield Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 honorees in May, largely due to her work as the first dentist at Jordan Valley Community Health Center, which she left in late May. Arquitt earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1996, and her Master of Science and a certificate of pediatric dentistry in 1999 from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Emack & Bolio’s
Steve Bingham opened a second Emack & Bolio’s franchise in Springfield on July 12 at 2925 E. Battlefield Road in Claremont Commons. Bingham opened his first Emack & Bolio’s franchise at 216 E. Walnut St. but decided to relocate because parking availability was limited downtown, he said. Bingham owns and operates another shop at 3253 E. Chestnut Expressway in the Frisco Office Building. Emack & Bolio’s, known for its Boston-style ice cream, offers sandwiches, soups, salads, smoothies and desserts. Prices range from $1.25 to $6.95. The new location also offers outdoor seating and WiFi. Hours: 7 a.m.–10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m.–11:30 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m.–11:30 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m.–9 p.m. Sunday. Great Southern Bank opened its 13th Springfield branch June 4. The 2,500-square-foot banking center, 2945 W. Republic Road, features a full-service lobby, safe-deposit boxes, drive-through teller lanes and an ATM. Banking Center Manager Matthew J. Murphy is one of six branch associates. Springfield-based Great Southern Bancorp Inc., publicly traded under the Nasdaq ticker GSBC, has 38 locations in Missouri.
