Jean Warren moved Boxcar Bar BQ on June 7 to 1131 N. Grant Ave. after operating from 2720 W. Kearney St. for five years. Boxcar Bar BQ serves sandwiches, ribs and sides and specializes in pulled pork with original sauce, Warren said. She said she relocated her restaurant, which also offers catering, because rent at her former location increased more than 30 percent this year. The new location can accommodate 50 diners. Assistant Vice President Angela Lynn is manager for Metropolitan National Bank’s newest branch, which opened Aug. 6 at 2835 E. Battlefield Road. This is the third Springfield location and 12th overall for Metropolitan National Bank, which operates under Springfield-based holding company Marshfield Investment Co. Woodhurst Drive for four years, and it moved in order to gain space, including an additional conference room, according to marketing officer Andrea Shomidie. Evans & Dixon, led by a three-member management committee at its St. Louis headquarters, also has offices in Kansas City and Leawood, Kan.
