Roy Blunt YMCA moved Sept. 5 to 1710 W. Broadway in Bolivar. The 27,000-square-foot facility has a multisport gymnasium with six automated basketball goals, a child care center, locker rooms, aerobics studio and Citizens Memorial Healthcare sports medicine offices. Ozarks Regional YMCA closed a 3,000-square-foot location at 1805 W. Broadway, Ste. G, in Bolivar, according to Director of Marketing Julie Eaton. Chad Jansen is executive director for the Bolivar YMCA facility, designed by Butler, Rosenbury & Partners Inc. and built by Wirt Construction Co. at a cost of $4 million. Hours: 5:30 a.m.–9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 6 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday and 1–4 p.m. Sunday. Phone: (417) 326-3100.
Parlor eighty-eight Lounge
Paul Sundy and Jay Hickman opened Parlor eighty-eight Lounge on Aug. 5 at 1111 E. Republic Road in Gallery Eleven shopping center. Registered as Parlor 88 LLC, Parlor eighty-eight Lounge offers appetizers, deserts, coffee and cocktails. Sundy said they’re targeting before- and after-dinner crowds. Parlor eighty-eight Lounge also has catering service. Sundy is co-owner of Big Whiskey’s American Bar & Grill and Icon Nightclub, both on Park Central East. Hickman is co-owner of Ernie Biggs Chicago Style Dueling Piano Bar, which has locations in Springfield, Branson, Kansas City and Little Rock, Ark. The Works Auto Center
Kevin Welch has relocated, consolidated and expanded Dent Works of Springfield Inc., which now operates under the name of The Works Auto Center, he said. On Aug. 15, Welch moved all operations into two adjacent buildings at 1840 and 1846 N. Commerce Drive in Nixa. Welch had operated Dent Works and Glass Works in Springfield and The Works Auto Detail in Rogersville. Also with the move, Welch added a tire and wheel shop and auto mechanic shop. Welch co-owns The Works Auto Center’s 22,000-square-foot location in Nixa and the land with developer Chuck Kohout. Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 724-1000.
