Steve Wagner and Bruce Brown moved Brown and Wagner Mortgage on Sept. 1 to 1525 E. Republic Road, Ste. B-135, in Kensington Place business condos. The mortgage bankers, who deal in residential real estate, formed their company in 2000 and operated for the last seven years in 4,000 square feet of leased space at 1411 E. State Farm Insurance
Dan Waisner is the new owner of a State Farm Insurance office at 717 W. Battlefield Road. He bought the business Nov. 1 from Mort Shurtz, who retired in October. Waisner acquired Shurtz’s client roster and will continue to exclusively sell State Farm Insurance products. Waisner also offers retirement planning as a licensed securities dealer. Waisner spent the last six years as an independent insurance agent in Kansas City, but he wanted to move to Springfield for a slower pace of life, he said. GM Sales Co./Stainless & Alloy Supply
Eric Jones is manager for GM Sales Co./Stainless & Alloy Supply, which opened Oct. 1 at 1801 E. Trafficway. GM Sales Co./Stainless & Alloy Supply sells valves and fittings that are used by commercial and industrial clients. The parts, for example, can be used in food-processing equipment. The Tulsa, Okla.-based company expanded to Springfield because owners Brad and Judy Tidmore view Springfield as a growth market, Jones said.
