Jay and Sande Quintana revived a vacant Charlie’s Chicken restaurant in southwest Springfield to open Tortillas Comida Deluxe. The Tex-Mex restaurant opened Nov. 17 at 1540 W. Republic Road. The Quintanas have a combined 45 years of experience in the restaurant business, including Jay Quintana’s stint as director of operations for the local Qdoba Mexican Grill franchise and 10 years as a regional director for Houston-based Landry’s Restaurants. Quintana said a popular lunchtime dish at Tortillas Comida Deluxe, which he described as “family-friendly,” is chimichangas for $8. Hours: 11 a.m.–8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m.–8 p.m. Sunday. Phone: (417) 883-7555.
New Horizons Hardwoods
Laura Beaver and a silent partner opened New Horizons Hardwoods Inc. on Dec. 31 at 1599 W. Lloyd St., Ste. B, in Ozark. New Horizons Hardwoods imports exotic hardwoods from Ecuador. Beaver’s partner has 15 years of experience exporting woods from Ecuador, and the woods will be marketed to contractors nationwide for use in high-end residential and commercial construction projects. Beaver said she’s negotiating with brokers for distribution of the products. The company is leasing 2,500 square feet of office and warehouse space. Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Century 21 Integrity Group
Angie Mullings became a franchisee of Century 21 Real Estate LLC on Nov. 8 when she paid an undisclosed sum for Century 21 Ace Realty, which she subsequently renamed Century 21 Integrity Group. Mullings worked for the past 12 years as a Realtor and broker for Century 21 Ace Realty, a 25-year-old business located at 1530 S. Glenstone Ave. For the last two years, she was in discussions to buy the business from Bill Bardot, who still works part time at the office as a Realtor. Century 21 Integrity Group has 16 employees.
