Wood Re New & Tile Too!

On Jan. 1, Bret McGowne bought the Springfield location for Wood Re New & Tile Too!, 220 S. Dysart Ave. The business restores wood by applying environmentally friendly cleaner to decks, gazebos, façades or other wood products dulled by dirt and mildew. The cleaner is rinsed off and followed with an application of wood protectant. Wood Re New & Tile Too! also cleans and seals tile. Stan and Sonja Krempges founded the Springfield-based company in 1993, and in 2002, they started franchising. Wanting to devote full-time energy to franchising activities, the Krempges franchised this location to McGowne, who had served as its general manager the last four years. With this transaction, Wood Re New Franchise Corp. has 23 franchises in nine states, Stan Krempges said. Krempges said he’ll now focus on growing existing franchise locations and adding about five new locations this year. Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 833-3303.

Chipotle Mexican Grill

Andy Morrison is manager of Chipotle Mexican Grill’s second Springfield location, which opened Feb. 8 at 1211 St. Louis St. Chipotle serves burritos, tacos and salads in a fast-casual dining atmosphere. Springfield’s first Chipotle restaurant opened June 29 at 3356 S. Campbell Ave., and the Denver-based chain now has more than 670 locations nationwide. Hours: 11 a.m.–10 p.m. daily. Phone: (417) 831-1155.

Unique Painting Services

Randy Schmidt launched Unique Painting Services on Oct. 25. Schmidt, who works from his Ozark home, targets high-end clients for his wall-painting work. Schmidt has 18 years of painting experience, including the last five years as a painter for a high-end homebuilder in Sarasota, Fla. Schmidt moved to Springfield because his wife has family in the area. Hours are by appointment. Phone: (417) 300-5453.
