MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries

MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries moved its career center June 9 to 308 Park Central East, just around the corner from its previous location in the Park Central Office Building. The new 9,350-square-foot space previously housed ZLB Plasma, a collector of human plasma. Director Liz Drennan said the most important thing about staying downtown is the proximity to the bus station, which is important for career center clients. She said the new location, leased from Davis Properties LLLP, allows the center to be more cost-effective in serving as a community rehabilitation center, providing employment services to individuals with disabilities. The center, with 15 employees, is MERS Goodwill’s only in southwest Missouri, although there are two Goodwill retail stores in Springfield and one in Ozark. Drennan said revenue from those stores is important to the sustainability of the career center. Hours: 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 862-5005.

Steward Construction

Scott Bracey moved his Steward Construction office on June 19 to 640 W. Republic Road, Ste. 120, from 2900 S. Fremont. At 1,500 square feet, Bracey said the new location is 12 times larger than his previous 120-square-foot office. The additional space was necessary for the expanding operation, which now includes architecture, design and decorating in addition to residential construction and remodeling, Bracey said. A showroom features rooms with different styles to give customers options and demonstrate the company’s offerings. “If they can dream it, we can build it,” Bracey said. Hours: 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Monday through Friday with special appointments available. Phone: (417) 887-7707.

Andereck, Evans, Milne, Widger & Johnson LLC

The law office of Andereck, Evans, Milne, Widger & Johnson LLC moved June 1 to 3816 S. Greystone Court, Ste. B, from 1111 S. Glenstone Ave. The 2,450-square-foot space, which previously housed Choice Mortgage, is home to three lawyers and one paralegal, senior member Rod Widger said. The Springfield branch office is focused primarily on work with rural electric cooperatives, he added. The firm also has offices in Jefferson City, Trenton and Smithville with a primary focus on litigation, utility law and cooperative corporation law. Hours: 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 864–6401.
