Mike Roberts and Mike Edwards opened 2M Audio & Broadcast Solutions LLC on July 5 out of a home in southwest Missouri. The pair, who previously hosted a morning radio show as the M&M Boys on Oldies 105.1 in Springfield, have more than 65 years combined experience in the radio business. 2M Audio offers multiple voice services, Roberts said, including imaging, industrial narration, audio books and voice on hold for businesses. Roberts said the business is run out of a home primarily for soundproofing purposes. Roberts has experience as a radio program director and worked in Dallas and Mobile, Ala., before Springfield. The Gardens Restaurant
Brothers Joe and David Duncan and their wives, Janet and Cheryl, purchased The Gardens Restaurant at 4580 Gretna Road in The Shoppes at Branson Meadows, from Billie Naioti on June 2. The new owners expanded the tearoom and coffeehouse to 4,500 square feet with seating for 150, Duncan said. The 16-employee staff, which includes the four owners, serves sandwiches, soups, salads and desserts. The restaurant also features live music 5–8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The owners, hailing from Cincinnati and Fort Wayne, Ind., have more than 20 years of combined restaurant experience. Phone: (417) 334-9598. Hours: 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Figment Art Gallery and Culture House
Randy and Shannon Bacon opened Figment Art Gallery and Culture House on June 6 at the Monarch Art Gallery, 600 W. College St. The 3,500-square-foot space includes 2,000 square feet of gallery and 1,500 square feet of working space for artists. Nikki Howell, arts and events coordinator, said Figment features painters, potters, photographers and mixed-media artists. The gallery, where eight artists are currently working, also has a small coffee bar, free Wi-Fi and games. Hours: 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Saturday. Phone: (417) 868–8179.
