Joanne Long purchased Meal Makers on May 16 at 4728 S. Campbell Ave. Long and manager Jessica Copeland offer prepared meals that customers can assemble and take home to cook. Long said Copeland, who has a culinary degree from Ozarks Technical Community College, uses fresh ingredients to prepare restaurant-quality meals, including top seller chicken enchiladas. Sisters Kelly Mann and Kari Wilson opened the franchise location in November 2006. Long said she took over the 1,500-square-foot store because it seemed like a necessary niche for today’s work force. Customers should call at least an hour before coming in, she said, and there is no longer a minimum order or a limit on the number of meals. Hours: 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. every other Saturday and by appointment after hours. Phone: (417) 877–9999.
