Walnut St. Chief Compliance Officer Mike Ozell and Chief Marketing Officer Skip Motsenbocker bring more than a decade of combined financial experience to the venture. Motsenbocker says SignalPoint partners with Charles Schwab to create portfolios that aim to deliver high yields and tax efficiency to its clients. Cody's Convenience Stores
Cody's Convenience Stores opened its 13th Springfield location Sept. 18 at 1701 W. Smith St. Cody's operates 37 sites in southwest Missouri under the banner of Jared Enterprises LLC. Another Springfield store is scheduled to open in late spring at 1750 E. Republic Road, says President Curtis Jared. Family-owned Jared Enterprises began its southwest Missouri business in 2002, when it purchased a small convenience store in Rogersville. In addition to gas, propane and lottery tickets, Cody's sells snack foods, drinks, sundries, and call-in pizza and fried-chicken dinners. DVD rentals are available at some locations. Deb Payne started Lighthouse Coaching on Aug. 1 at 1530 S. Tuscany Court in Ozark. Payne describes her home-based business as "helping women help themselves toward business and personal success." Payne ran a similar consulting business in Topeka, Kan., for five years. She also taught small-business management at Washburn University in Topeka. Payne says her sessions with individuals and companies deal with personal development, career changes, communications, networking and handling the loss of a job.
