Mike and Kelli Gollub on March 10 opened a Visiting Angels franchise at 225 E. Sunshine St., Ste. 3. The nonmedical home-care business serves the elderly with meal preparations, light housekeeping and errands, as well as respite care for family members. “Our emphasis is on the companion side,” Mike Gollub said, noting that customers select their caregivers. The Gollubs bought the franchise rights to Greene County for roughly $35,000. Mike Gollub works as director, while Kelli Gollub is a full-time account executive for Clark Products. Their daughter, Megan Sheets, is staff coordinator for Visiting Angels. The Pennsylvania-based company has about 350 locations nationwide, added Gollub, who, at 59, is embarking on a career change after more than 35 years selling paper, janitorial supplies and other products. Suzy Shoe Shine
Susan Snider opened Suzy Shoe Shine on April 21 at 1930 E. Meadowmere St., Ste. 102. Snider has shined shoes for 20 years, starting in Dallas, then taking her mobile shoeshine stand to trade shows across the country. At her storefront, Snider takes walk-in customers and allows shoe drop-offs; she charges $6 a pair. She’ll also pick up and shine clients’ shoes, for $8 a pair. Snider, the store’s sole employee, also shines shoes on Wednesdays at Springfield Livestock and Marketing Center and mid-day Fridays at Fedora Social House. McCullough & Associates LLC
McCullough & Associates LLC on Aug. 1 bought out certified public accountant James Deal and his 25-year-old firm, Deal & Associates. Deal joins Terry McCullough and Scott Bonacker as McCullough & Associates partners. Three Deal & Associates’ employees came with the book of business, and there are now 12 employees at McCullough & Associates, 820 E.
