Interior designer Brenda S. Van Eps started Studio V Design LLC on April 16. Eps was lead interior designer at Butler, Rosenbury & Partners Inc. before leaving in March to begin the home-based venture at 847 S. Delaware Ave. In her 12 years of experience, Eps has developed a focus on commercial designs, particularly programming, space planning, interior finishes, furniture specification, artwork selection, millwork design and project management. She has designed in the retail, business, civic, health care and hospitality markets, and most recently completed designs for McDonald, Hosmer, King & Royce PC’s South Glenstone Avenue law office now under construction. MacPherson Law Center LLC
Mountain Grove-based MacPherson Law Center LLC opened a Nixa branch July 1 at 729 W. Center Circle. MacPherson Law Center is a family affair with founder Cynthia MacPherson, her son, Jason, and her daughter-in-law, Ashleigh, as its practicing attorneys. Cynthia MacPherson founded the firm nearly 30 years ago, said Ashleigh MacPherson, the lead attorney in Nixa. Primary areas of practice are personal injury, workers’ compensation and Social Security disability law, and with MacPherson’s expertise, the Nixa branch also will handle real estate and business law. MacPherson earned her University of Missouri-Kansas City law degree in real estate law with a concentration in land use. Strafford Branch Library
Springfield-Greene County Library District opened a Strafford branch Aug. 9 at 101 S. State Highway 125. The eastern Greene County branch is the district’s 10th and the fifth branch outside Springfield, said Loree Quinn, the district’s community relations assistant. The library leases 2,500 square feet in Chestnut Plaza, just south of Interstate 44. The Friends of the Library donated $26,300 to buy most of its furnishings, and Empire Bank donated $4,000 for two murals to match its vintage car décor, according to the library’s Web site. Hours: 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and 8:30 a.m.–7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Phone: (417) 736-9233.
