Debbie Allison, Rhonda Birlew and Amy Homan opened Blush Studio on Sept. 30 at 2902 S. Campbell Ave., Ste. D, next door to Valentine's restaurant. The three bring to this new venture nearly 25 years of combined experience in hair care at several salons. The 2,500-square-foot Blush Studio employs six and provides hair care, plus glycolic skin peels to remove spots and superficial scars. Kum & Go

Kum & Go No. 488 opened for business Sept. 15 at 1704 W. Norton Road. Kum & Go owner Krause Gentle Corp. now operates 25 stores in the Springfield area, and the Des Moines, Iowa-based company has 438 stores in 12 Midwestern states, according to Megan Kring, media relations director at the corporate office. Individual store numbers are assigned based on market area and are not sequential, she said. The company was ranked No. 306 on Forbes magazine's 2007 list of the largest private U.S. companies and third-largest in Iowa, after Hyvee and Pella. It is also the 21st-largest convenience store chain in the country. Every Kum & Go site is corporate-owned, and each building contract requires completion within 90 days, according to Kring. The new store sells gas, propane, snacks and drinks; hot wings, chicken and pizza are prepared in-house. Hours: 24 hours daily. Phone: (417) 833-8075.

Skaggs Women's Center

Skaggs Community Health Center in Branson opened its Women's Center on Oct. 2 at 545 Branson Landing Blvd., on the fourth floor of Skaggs' outpatient center. Skaggs is a 165-bed not-for-profit community hospital established by the Skaggs Foundation in 1950. It operates nine family practice and specialty medicine clinics in Stone and Taney counties. The Women's Center offers digital mammograms and ultrasounds. According to Michelle Leroux, media relations specialist, those services will be expanded within six months to include massage therapy and an onsite nurse practitioner.
