Pizza House celebrated its 50th anniversary in Springfield on Oct. 31 by relocating to 312 E. Commercial St. Before this move, Pizza House operated at 1349 S. Glenstone Ave., where the restaurant was evicted earlier this year. Owner Dorothy Smith then sold the business to manager Stacy Schneider, who runs the new space with a crew of seven. The restaurant, which seats 49, offers a daily lunch special for two - a large one-topping pizza, two side salads and drinks - for $13.50. Hours: 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Phone: (417) 881-4073.

Arvest Bank

Arvest Bank opened its second Springfield branch Nov. 10 at 2403 W. Republic Road. Fayetteville, Ark.-based Arvest has been in business since 1961 and operates 225 branches in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas and southern Missouri. According to Michal Moss Early, vice president and private banking manager in Springfield, the company holds deposits of more than $9.5 billion. Arvest's first Springfield office, 1435 E. Bradford Parkway, opened in 2006. During a Nov. 21 ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new branch - managed by Shaun Kellar - officials presented Walton Family Foundation donations to Discovery Center ($10,000), Ozark Literacy Council ($5,000), Habitat for Humanity ($7,500) and Ronald McDonald House ($5,000). Lobby hours: 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Drive-through: 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. Phone: (417) 885-7300.

Star Office Cleaning Service

Star Office Cleaning Service opened for business with four employees on Sept. 15 at 197 Juniper Road in Ozark. Owners Viktor and Yelena Ruban bring eight years of commercial cleaning experience in Oregon to their new home-based venture. Star Office Cleaning only performs commercial jobs, and fees are based on the size and type of use in the area to be cleaned. Carpet cleaning is not included. Hours: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment. Phone: (417) 830-7118.
