Andy's Frozen Custard

Andy's Frozen Custard opened its fourth Springfield location on Oct. 1 at 4420 S. Campbell Ave. with five employees including manager Nanette Haenig. Springfield-based Andy's operates 12 stores in Missouri, Arkansas, Texas and Illinois. According to Todd Arth, corporate director of marketing, the four local restaurants and the Branson store are corporate-owned. The other six are owned by franchisees. John Kuntz started Andy's Frozen Custard in 1985 in Osage Beach and named the business after his son, Andy, the company's current owner. Slingshot Creative

Joshua and Angela Hill on Dec. 1 opened Slingshot Creative, a home-based graphic design, photography and mural business at 499 Mockingbird Ridge in Rogersville. Photographer/designer Joshua Hill worked at Noble Communications and A&J Printing for approximately five years before beginning Slingshot Creative. Angela Hill handles the marketing and financial end of the business, which lists Fellowship Bible Church, Missouri State University, Springfield Little Theatre and American Cancer Society among its clients. Lance and Amanda Climer opened 417studios LLC on Dec. 1 at 1825 E. Republic Road, Ste. 5404. The home-based business performs on-location photography in Springfield and surrounding areas for businesses and individuals, specializing in family portraits, graduations and weddings. Pricing for a one-day 2,200-photo wedding shoot, with two photographers, begins at $500 and includes finished photos as well as a CD for high-resolution prints.
