BJ's Trophy Shop Inc. relocated Jan. 19 to 1700 E. Sunshine St., a move that provides the family-owned business with 10,000 square feet - five times more than its old location down the street. BJ's Trophy owns both sites; owner and manager Billy Viles said the company purchased the new location - formerly a Missouri Title Loans office - a while ago in anticipation of expanding. The old site will be used for storage. BJ's Trophy, which has been in business 32 years and employs 10, assembles and engraves plaques, trophies, badges and medals for schools, contests, sporting events and corporate recognition. Work Horse Automotive LLC
Drew Shipman and Lee Thornton opened Work Horse Automotive LLC on Jan. 17 at 1530 St. Louis St. The business sells and installs car and truck batteries, wheels and tires, and performs detail work and alignment. It also offers an auto-finder service, which locates new and pre-owned vehicles for sale across the country and delivers a selected vehicle to a local buyer after financing is arranged. The auto-finder service, which costs $750, includes marketing a vehicle in the southwest Missouri area for a customer who has purchased another car. According to co-owner Shipman, Work Horse Automotive is fully insured and bonded and holds a state dealer's license. Hours: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Teach to Inspire Yoga Education Center
Husband-and-wife owners Beth Spindler and Kevin Richardson started Teach to Inspire Yoga Education Center on Jan. 2 at 1666 E. Sunshine St. in Sunshine Center. Spindler manages the business, while Richardson teaches graphic design and illustration at Drury University. Four yoga classes are given daily through the week, and teacher-certification classes are offered on weekends. Yoga, which Spindler describes as "exercise to link body, mind and spirit," can be helpful for hypertension, fibromyalgia, heart problems and circulatory disorders, she said. A single yoga session costs $15, and unlimited sessions are $55 monthly with a contract. Hours: 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday and on weekends by appointment.
