Which Wich?
Franchisees Lyle and Natalie Armstrong opened Springfield's first Which Wich? sandwich shop Feb. 12 at 3405 E. Battlefield Road in the newly completed Deerfield Office Park just off U.S. Highway 65. The restaurant employs 17 and features an ordering concept that gives each customer a brown paper bag with selections printed on the front and a red Sharpie pen to check the desired toppings for each of the 51 customizable sandwiches available. Lyle Armstrong, who works full time at the shop, said most sandwiches are priced at $4.95. The Dallas-based restaurant chain, founded in 2003, operates 65 locations in 13 states with 100 sites scheduled to open this year, according to www.whichwich.com. The Armstrongs' franchise is based in Branson and is registered with the Missouri Secretary of State as Show-Me Classy Concepts LLC. Imago Identity Studio
Ryan Seale and Brandon Gamble started Imago Identity Studio LLC on Jan. 2 at 331 E. Water St., Ste. 107, in Mulholland Building space that had been vacant several months. Imago is the Latin word for image, and the business handles graphic and logo design, and advertising in several media, according to www.imagoidentitystudio.com. Both owners have experience in public relations and advertising, and Gamble also has an architectural background. Imago Identity clients include Downhome Productions and Tufco Industrial Flooring, locally, and international documentary filmmaker Nameless Films. Happy Chef Catering Co.
Phil and Lacey Colbert opened Happy Chef Catering Co. on Oct. 1 at 319 E. Walnut St., sharing food-preparation space with Susie's Sweets and Merle's Hot Dog Emporium. Phil Colbert brings 12 years of food-prep experience to the venture, which specializes in custom menus and themed events. Much of the caterer's business consists of meetings of about 25 people, but Colbert said he has call-in employees available to serve up to 1,000 guests. Indonesian- and Hawaiian-themed weddings are on the calendar. A menu of either chicken breasts or beef tips, vegetables, potatoes and rolls for 20 or more people runs $7 per person, he said.
