Cliff Hancock started Springfield Web TV on Oct. 15 at 3444 S. Campbell Ave., Ste. C, with one sales rep and two Web developers. The business is a live-streaming Internet broadcast system that provides business, sports and community information at www.springfieldwebtv.com. Hancock, who previously owned Exercise & Rehab Equipment on South Campbell Avenue, said Springfield Web TV offers film production for its clients, but if a business provides its own video, the cost for airtime is $200 per month. Schools and churches with existing video are given free coverage. Clients include the Bass Pro Tournament of Champions and Berry's Hunting and Fishing Outdoors, Hancock said. Asset Protection Specialists opened Feb. 2 at 1143 S. Maryland Ave. with 10 employees. Owner Douglas Fee said the business provides 24-hour security for businesses, individuals and special events. Fee has a background in security work, and he requires employees have at least two years of law enforcement or military experience. He said a risk assessment runs about $250. Wild Idea Archery
Kim and Daron Wilkins opened Wild Idea Archery on Jan. 12 at 877 E. Steel St. in Seymour. The business, which employs three part-time, offers a full-range archery shop with on-site instruction, a video range, 20- and 30-yard indoor ranges and a 60-yard outdoor lighted range. Use of the indoor range runs $5.50 per hour. The Wilkinses also own Champ Industries Inc., a Seymour business that makes military ground-support equipment.
